Reaves is pleased to announce “Birthright”, a group show featuring nine emerging artists. The exhibition which was curated by Reaves, will be on view at Michael Mut Gallery from April 22 through May 9, 2010. An opening reception will be held for the artists on Thursday April 22, from 6 - 9pm. The exhibition and reception are both free and open to the public.
“Birthright” explores ideals of family, freedom of speech, simple pleasures, home, city life and nature through a diversity of mediums. The initial inspiration for this show developed through interactions with three of the nine artists. Helene Berson and Goldie Yorke, residents of the East Village, who create visual diaries based on their heritage and Christopher Pierro a local graffiti artist. Other artists include Dmitry Borshch, Kenneth Browne, Melanie Diaz, Kate Durkin, James Edwin Hall, and David Imlay.
